Mountain Style
Heavy wood doors for the chalet, the ski house and the mountain home.
The idea
A chalet in Savoie, a ski house in Aspen, a ranch in Montana or Jackson Hole: a mountain house asks for doors you can feel. Solid wood with its knots and grain left visible, a thick leaf that closes with weight, a surface brushed or aged by hand, joints pinned with wood pegs. Mountain Style brings that look inside the house, room after room.
Our partner workshop sits in a valley of the Vosges mountains in France, where this kind of door is everyday work. Every door is made to your sizes and finished in the workshop, ready to hang.
- Solid frame-and-panel: raised or flat panels, mortise-and-tenon joints.
- Heavy and thick: 1-9/16″ (39 mm) standard, thicker leaves made to order.
- Brushed, aged or pegged: the soft grain brushed out, a hand-distressed surface, visible wood pegs at the joints.
- Matching closets: closet doors and side panels in the same wood and finish.

What makes a mountain door

Brushed grain
The soft grain is brushed out and the hard grain stands proud. You feel the wood under the hand.

Aged and pegged
A hand-distressed surface and visible wood pegs at the joints, for the look of an old farmhouse door.

Thick and heavy
Solid frame-and-panel construction, with thicker leaves made to order. A door that closes with weight.

Made in the mountains
Our partner workshop works in the Vosges mountains of France, with the wood chosen, dried and machined under one roof.
